About the Practice

Since 2000, I have been dedicated to supporting individuals through some of life’s most difficult emotional challenges. I work with both adults and teens, guiding them as they navigate anxiety, depression, trauma, and the patterns that shape their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.

My Philosophy

Lisa A. Hopson, LMFT

I believe that every person holds strength, insight, and potential—even in times of deep struggle. My work is rooted in helping clients understand their experiences, rediscover their resilience, and build healthier ways of coping. Therapy is a collaborative process, and your goals, pace, and comfort guide our work together.

Training & Experience

Lisa A. Hopson, LMFT

With over two decades of experience in psychological counseling, I combine clinical expertise with a warm, grounded therapeutic style. My approach integrates:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for reshaping unhelpful thinking patterns

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) for emotional regulation and distress tolerance

  • Schema Therapy for addressing long-standing emotional themes and life patterns

This blend allows me to tailor treatment to your unique needs and provide a clear, guided path toward healing.

How I Work

Lisa A. Hopson, LMFT

My therapeutic orientation is strength-based and collaborative. I incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Schema Therapy to create a personalized plan that fits your specific needs and goals.

  • CBT helps you reshape unhelpful thought patterns.

  • DBT teaches emotional regulation, mindfulness, and distress tolerance.

  • Schema Therapy explores deeper emotional patterns that began in childhood or early relationships.

This integrative approach allows me to meet you exactly where you are—whether you need strategies for managing daily symptoms, support for navigating trauma, or guidance for understanding long-standing emotional patterns.

Who I Help

Lisa A. Hopson, LMFT

Although I work with a range of emotional concerns, I specialize in supporting:

  • Adults coping with stress, anxiety, depression, or trauma

  • Teens navigating emotional overwhelm, identity development, and behavioral challenges

  • Individuals struggling with chronic worry, low self-worth, or relationship patterns that feel hard to break

  • Those recovering from painful life events or unresolved childhood experiences

My goal is to help you move from surviving to living with greater ease, connection, and purpose.

Creating a Safe Space

Lisa A. Hopson, LMFT

Therapy works best when you feel safe enough to explore your experience openly. I strive to create an environment where you feel respected, supported, and never judged. Many clients describe our sessions as a blend of structure and compassion—where practical tools are balanced with emotional understanding.

A Commitment to Growth

Lisa A. Hopson, LMFT

I am committed to ongoing professional development and staying current with evidence-based practices. This ensures that the support you receive is grounded in the latest research, tailored to your needs, and reflective of the highest ethical standards.

Whether you are seeking relief, clarity, or personal transformation, you are not alone. I am here to help you understand your story, reclaim your strengths, and build a life that feels more aligned, fulfilling, and manageable.
